  5.  Extension of Brother Briant Chea’s serving in CCC:

Pastoral Staffs contacted Mark Heavener at BGCT that we would like to have Briant serve in the youth ministry from Dec. to Feb.   Mark said that he will let us know if they are able to sponsor once he has the answer.

  6.  Pastor Wang will daft 2 invitation letters to 劉同蘇牧師, 洪予健牧師representing DFW Chinese Baptist churches joint ministry chairperson to invite them to be the speakers for 2010 & 2011 joint retreat & joint outreach. Pastor Wang called劉同蘇牧師 on 11/24/09 and left a message on his voice mail.

  7.  Reminder:

          A. 1/12/2010 Tuesday 5-9pm at FCBCD: 2010 joint retreat 3^rd  co-workers’ meeting.

          B. 1/29-31/ 2010 Pastor Wang will go to Houston Chinese Church as speaker.  Rev. Luke Yuan will preach in CCC.

Thank Lord ! We had a meeting yesterday. Follow the minutes regarding Pastor Sabbatical Report：

「Deacon board’s sharing: Due to church’s current situation, deacons hope Pastor Wang to stay at CCC to stabilize the church.  Suggest Pastor Wang to take 3 weeks to 1 month vacation.  Pastor Wang & Pauline will consider Deacon board’s suggestion & let deacon board know as soon as possible. Sabbatical is every 7 years serving. Logos seminary正道神學院 教牧學博士1/15/10-2/5/10 3 weeks class twice a year(6 weeks a year).  3 courses at a time.  $14,000 for 2 year.」(see the minutes)

3. VBS Craft station:

a)          The First Day

Make HEART,

To share with classes why we’re here, b/c of Love fm Jesus.

b)          The 2nd day

Make SHEEP (forgive and forget)

To lead classes to write down the people you don’t like or hate

After message and prayer if they willing to forgive and forget and never mention again, class will use cotton ball to cover it.

c)          The 3rd day

Make CROSS

To received Jesus in the heart.

d)          The 4th day

Make START AND FISH

To received grace.

Above are the design for the craft classes.

e)          The 5th day

Make CHURCH and RAINBOW

We will make invitation card to invite them come to church after we leave

also remind them God’s promises in the bible and HE leave the rainbow as landmark as promise after we leave us.

The 5th day design is for classes after we leave….CHURCH AND RAINBOW..

All the material not over the budget, I will report after Sunday, just in case if need make necessary adj.

1. Meeting with Briant Chea
   1. Briant will participate the Labor Day joint retreat on 9/5-7.
   2. Sunday school teaching:
   3. i.                After 6/7, Briant will teach the youth life based topics with one book in the bible.
      1. 6/22-26 Briant will not be at CCC.  Briant will try to come back to church on 6/26 Friday night to teach youth who do not attend short mission.
2. 7/3, 7/10 Friday night fellowship: Briant will prepare teaching materials for youth who do not attend short mission.
3. 7/5, 7/12, 7/19 Sunday school: Brinat will prepare teaching for Timothy & Jojo.
4. 7/21 Tuesday Pastoral meeting is cancelled due to short term mission.
5. 7/24 Friday night fellowship is cancelled.
   1. After 7/24: Briant will prepare Sunday school & Fri. night fellowship teaching materials for all the youth.

Cerina’s suggestion regarding Briant:

As to Briant, since he is participating in mission trip, it is not practical to say he will teach SS for the youth that are not going to the trip.

My suggestions:

(1)    Youth are not going to Mission trip SS time: Yesterday, I have Joanne sit in Linda’s class as a helper, she seems have more fun and feel more useful in helping the adults and younger kids.

(2)    Briant need guidance:

(A)   I suggest to have someone lead/guide Briant.  Maybe we can get the college kids work together with him as a team, give him a support group, this way he will have a good memory with CCC and willing to come back to CCC to serve again.  To him we are not an employee and employer relationship.

(B)   Please have Albert talk to Alex and Chandy, ask them to take the lead and help out ( I suggest let Albert, because he could communicate better in English with them and plus they respect him highly.  Thomas and I are better play the rolls as parents not co-workers).  We have many college students need nourish as well.  Don’t let them get lost, while they are home for summer. Remember, Briant is only an intern not a professional/experienced youth director.  Our goal is to train this young man to know how to serve not just put him here or there.  Otherwise after 3 months, he will still feel lost. We waste his time and our time. More importantly, we did not do a good job in managing God’s resource. We know the chance of training a young man to be God’s servant in future might not come back to knock our door the second time.

Albert’s response to Cerina:

Love fund to the Lee family, we will announce in the bulletin that we will continue our support to the family until the end of the year.

Flora, please post this in the announcement.

Regarding youth ministry during this interim, I will check with Alex and Chandy and see if they have the heart for the youth ministry, at least to work with Briant until we find another replacement.

College fellowship: I will check with Phillip and see if he has the heart to round up the college student and meet regularly during the summer break.  If not, I will talk to Wendy and see if she is willing to coordinate these gathering.

I know Pastor Wang is looking after Briant, we will just wait for Pastor Wang and see if there is any need for us to help Briant to prepare for his future ministry.

Thanks for your suggestion, I can see that you have a passion for His people.

1.          Prayer

2.          BGCT Short Term Mission Trip (the week of July 19-24)

Pastor Don has contacted Dr. Tyson regarding the details of the trip as presented to the staff and strategic meeting. The staff needs to discuss the next steps.

Pastor Don suggests the following steps:

1-      Confirming the leaders. Jan 09: waiting to hear from leaders.

2-      Visiting the site and confirming logistics. Jan 09:

3-      Lodging: Stay in Southbury Baptist Church, boys & girls stay in separate rooms.  They have a full kitchen for mission team to use.  One shower in the church to use. Mission team needs to clean the facilities each day.

4-      Confirm teaching materials Feb 09

5-      Confirm youth participants, by Missions conference. March 09

6-      Training for camp. April-May Sundays

7-      CCC VBS Camp June or July 09

8-      Mission Trip July 19-24

9-      Update budget for mission trip:

Updated youth mission budget     $8380 

Plus: Summer VBS material    $1460   (Pastoral meeting suggests to add this item in youth mission budget)

Total updated youth mission budget  $9840

 

3.          Reimbursement for Pastor Don’s trip to Waterbury, Connecticut

A.          BGCT asked Pastor Don to send receipts to BGCT, then BGCT will mail reimbursement check to CCC, and CCC will issue a check to Pastor Don.

 

4.          Reminder:

l   2/8/09 Pastor Wang will preach at Ft Worth CBC.  Pastor Fu 付國朝牧師will preach at CCC

l   2/17 Tuesday 11:00-2:00pm Joint retreat Camp site visit at Falls Creek
