    3. Sunday school teaching:

    5. ii.                After 6/7, Briant will teach the youth life based topics with one book in the bible.
      1. Friday night fellowship: Briant will let us know by this Friday the teaching contents.
      2. Compensation: BGCT will match dollar for dollar CCC total of $1200.  So BGCT will send CCC a check for $1200.  The total amount Briant will receive will be $2400.
  1. Cerina’s suggestion regarding Briant:

As to Briant, since he is participating in mission trip, it is not practical to say he will teach SS for the youth that are not going to the trip.

My suggestions:

(1)    Youth are not going to Mission trip SS time: Yesterday, I have Joanne sit in Linda’s class as a helper, she seems have more fun and feel more useful in helping the adults and younger kids.

(2)    Briant need guidance:

(A)   I suggest to have someone lead/guide Briant.  Maybe we can get the college kids work together with him as a team, give him a support group, this way he will have a good memory with CCC and willing to come back to CCC to serve again.  To him we are not an employee and employer relationship.

(B)   Please have Albert talk to Alex and Chandy, ask them to take the lead and help out ( I suggest let Albert, because he could communicate better in English with them and plus they respect him highly.  Thomas and I are better play the rolls as parents not co-workers).  We have many college students need nourish as well.  Don’t let them get lost, while they are home for summer. Remember, Briant is only an intern not a professional/experienced youth director.  Our goal is to train this young man to know how to serve not just put him here or there.  Otherwise after 3 months, he will still feel lost. We waste his time and our time. More importantly, we did not do a good job in managing God’s resource. We know the chance of training a young man to be God’s servant in future might not come back to knock our door the second time.

Albert’s response to Cerina:

Cerina

Love fund to the Lee family, we will announce in the bulletin that  we will continue our support to the family until the end of the year.

Flora, please post this in the announcement.

Regarding youth ministry during this interim, I will check with Alex and Chandy and see if they have the heart for the youth ministry, at least to work with Briant until we find another replacement.

College fellowship: I will check with Phillip and see if he has the heart to round up the college student and meet regularly during the summer break.  If not, I will talk to Wendy and see if she is willing to coordinate these gathering.

I know Pastor Wang is looking after Briant, we will just wait for Pastor Wang and see if there is any need for us to help Briant to prepare for his future ministry.

Thanks for your suggestion, I can see that you have a passion for His people.

Albert

  1. E-mail from Brother John Woell dated 6/15/09

Hi Pastor Wang and Flora,

My family and I are so excited to see all of you this Sunday!  They were sad that they weren’t able to come last time.  It is good to meet up with new people and old friends.

I will be happy to preach on that subject, but I do have a few questions.  Will someone still be putting together the powerpoints as before, or does it work differently when I preach to the youth?  I’m very happy to preach with powerpoint, and I’m very happy to preach without it, too.  I would just like to know.  Also, is it all youth, or are there some adults?  Knowing this helps me make my application points more relevant to the youth.  Also, should my sermon be around the same length of time, and will I only be responsible for the sermon?  If so, who else will I be working with on the English side who will serve as emcee, worship leader, and prayer leader for the benediction?

Also, I was wondering whether Sylvia and I could be given an opportunity to speak to the missions committee about the possibility of partnering with us in our ministry in Taiwan.  I still have no idea when we will be finally be able to raise enough support to make it to Taiwan, but I would love to have a partnership with CCC.  I am also hoping that someday, when I’m in Taiwan, that I could enable churches like CCC to be able to do short term missions in Taiwan.  Let me know whether I can speak to the mission committee this Sunday, or during their next meeting.

Thanks,

John
